Community Ambassador Network (CAN)
The Community Ambassador Network (CAN) Internship is a 12-month, paid internship designed to provide CalWORKs participants with comprehensive training through DMH’s partnership with the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) while participants serve as “lay” mental health professionals in their own communities. CAN Interns will provide various services, such as conducting outreach and engagement, promoting COVID-19 awareness, and providing psychoeducation, case management and mental health first aid. The CAN-internship position is a Transitional Subsidized Employment (TSE) position through GAIN.
