The Quality Assurance (QA) Knowledge Assessment Survey process was developed in 2019 to identify areas where training is needed on Medi-Cal, Specialty Mental Health Service (SMHS) requirements including those related to documentation and claiming. The QA Knowledge Assessment Survey process is also intended to be an additional means of support to providers in serving their clients, and in adhering to federal, State, and County standards for the provision of Medi-Cal, Specialty Mental Health Services. In addition to providing information to the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (LACDMH) regarding system-wide Medi-Cal SMHS requirement related training needs, the Survey also allow providers to identify areas that need to be emphasized in training to staff in their individual programs and agencies.
The surveys include a brief set of questions that focus on and require the application of knowledge related to Medi-Cal, SMHS requirements including those related to documentation and reimbursement. Programs and agencies can utilize the surveys in a variety of ways to assist staff in documentation, claiming and clinical areas to increase their ability to provide meaningful treatment to their clients.
The active survey process involves legal entity providers contracted with LACDMH and is entirely anonymous. In addition, the surveys and other related materials posted on this site are available for all providers to review and utilize at their discretion, to support and enhance their QA-related activities and training.
