Katherine Guerra
Program Manager
Katherine Guerra is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and currently a Program Manager with Veteran and Military Family Services (VMFS), a Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (DMH) veteran specialty mental health program charged with assisting veterans and their families in need.
Katherine first joined the department in 2009 with Juvenile Justice. She worked in the juvenile halls providing mental health treatment to incarcerated youth in specialized units and later as the Officer of the Day, responding to crises and providing mental health treatment to youth in the halls with the highest acuity.
Seven years later, Katherine joined the DMH program Veterans And Loved Ones Recovery (VALOR), a full-service , accredited program for all veterans, including those not eligible for federal benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs, on their HUD VASH contract. Shortly after joining the program, she became supervisor over both the Full Service Partnership and HUD VASH teams.
Katherine stayed onboard as VALOR transitioned into Veteran Peer Access Network (VPAN), which later transitioned into what is now Veteran and Military Family Services program (VMFS). She was promoted to Program Manager of VMFS in October of 2025.
Katherine holds a B.A. in Sociology from the University of California, Irvine and a Master of Social Work from the California University, Los Angeles.
