Mental Health Plan Beneficiary Handbooks

Our mission at the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health is to provide hope, recovery, and well-being for all of the members of our community. We believe that everyone has a right to quality mental health care and that these services should be accessible to all. On behalf of the thousands of dedicated staff and community partners who make this care possible every day, we are proud to support clients on their journey of well-being and connection. This handbook informs clients on how to get Medi-Cal specialty mental health services through the county mental health plan.

This handbook explains client benefits and how they can get care, including:

  • How to access specialty mental health services
  • What benefits clients have access to
  • What to do if there is a question or problem
  • Clients’ rights and responsibilities as a Medi-Cal beneficiary
