Housing Training

Housing Related Training

In conjunction with the Department’s Training Division, Housing Policy & Development develops and offers housing related training throughout the fiscal year. Examples of the training topics include the following:

  • Housing Retention;
  • Critical Time Intervention;
  • Housing 101;
  • Addressing Difficult Behaviors; and
  • Invisible Wound.

If you have a particular training topic that you would like to increase your knowledge and skill level, you may forward your training request to CHEERD@dmh.lacounty.gov.

The CHEERD staff is available to provide housing consultation and guidance on a case-by-case basis. If you would like to discuss housing options, available financial assistance, or developing a housing plan, you may contact Housing Policy & Development to schedule a conference call. See contact information below.

Annual Housing Conference

The Department presents the Annual Housing Institute, a two-day housing conference addressing an array of housing related workshops focusing on service delivery, financing and development of permanent supportive housing, management and operations of permanent supportive housing, and available resources and services for the homeless. Over the two-day period, participants have over 30 workshops to select from that are consistent with their current skill and knowledge level.
