LA COUNTY MEDI-CAL HEALTH PLANS PORTAL

The Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, the local Mental Health Plan (MHP), is committed to enhancing mental health services and fostering a more cohesive healthcare ecosystem in partnership with each of the LA County Medi-Cal Managed Care Plans (MCPs). Together, they have each executed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to ensure coordination of services for the shared beneficiaries that they serve. MOUs are in place among the following Medi-Cal MCPs: LA Care (and their sub-contracted health plans Anthem and Blue Shield), Health Net (and their subcontracted health plan, Molina), Kaiser Permanente, and AIDS Healthcare Foundation for Positive Health Care.

These MOUs are designed to elevate transparency and accountability by delineating the responsibilities of each party concerning service and care delivery as well as coordination.

The primary objectives of the MOUs are to create a robust framework that clearly defines the roles and responsibilities of the MHP and MCPs while simultaneously supporting local engagement. It serves as an effective mechanism for facilitating care coordination and fostering the exchange of critical information necessary to enhance overall care coordination and referral processes among the involved parties.

Through this collaborative effort, LA County Department of Mental Health is dedicated to advancing mental health services and ensuring that individuals in our community receive the best possible care. These MOUs represent a significant step forward in our mission to provide comprehensive, coordinated, and quality mental health care for the residents of Los Angeles County.
