What is TAY?

TAY stands for Transition Age Youth. It refers to young adults ages 16-25 who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness.
Here you may receive support in accessing housing, employment, and healthcare. You can also receive support for mental health and substance abuse problems.
Below are some places you can go to get support.

TAY Drop-In Centers

TAY Drop-In Centers provide access to many resources and supports including case management, clothing, meals, showers, and laundry services.
They can also provide education and life skills support, linkage to mental health services, and a safe space to connect with peers.

Mental Health America (MHA)

Services Provided: Case management, medication support, mental health services, recreational activities, advocacy, and skill building workshops (communication, self-esteem, money management, and anger management).

Eligibility: Age 18-25; Meets Medical Necessity. Some Indigent Slots. No private insurance accepted.

Penny Lane Centers – Yellow Submarine

Safe Place for Youth (SPY)

Services Provided: Hot meals, showers, case management, support, referrals, counseling, HIV & HEP C testing, hygiene supplies, clothing, blankets, internet, phone and meal services, health education, bus tokens, birth certificate and ID assistance.

Eligibility: 12-25/All. Homeless, sleeping on the streets or beach, in a van or car, in a building or at a bus stop. Even if staying in a motel, sleeping on a friend’s couch or floor, you’re feeling unsafe at home or travelling through.
