The DMH-DPSS Collaborative Programs website is a one-stop resource for information on services provided by the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (LACDMH) and the Department of Public Social Services (DPSS). These programs offer support for mental health, employment, housing, and more to help individuals and families stay stable and independent.

CalWORKs Program

This program provides mental health treatment to CalWORKs participants, helping them overcome challenges that prevent them from securing and maintaining employment. Services focus on addressing mental health barriers that may interfere with work readiness and career success. By offering specialized support, the program empowers individuals to achieve long-term stability and self-sufficiency.

Individual Placement and Support (IPS) – Supported Employment

This evidence-based program helps individuals with mental health challenges find and maintain meaningful employment. IPS integrates mental health treatment with job placement services to ensure participants receive the support they need in the workplace. The goal is to promote long-term employment success and overall well-being.

Coordinated Entry System for Families

This program connects families experiencing homelessness with essential housing resources and mental health support. By streamlining access to services, it helps families secure stable housing and receive the assistance needed to regain stability. The program aims to break the cycle of homelessness by addressing both immediate and long-term needs.

CalWORKs Family Stabilization (FS) Program

This program offers intensive case management and essential services for CalWORKs families facing crises. It helps families address mental health, housing, employment, and other urgent needs to promote long-term stability. Additionally, specialized counseling for children and care coordination services ensure that families receive the support necessary to thrive.

Mental Health Assessment Program (MHAP)

This program provides mental health assessments for General Relief (GR) customers facing barriers to employment. By identifying mental health challenges, MHAP helps individuals access the support and treatment needed to improve their well-being. The program plays a crucial role in assisting participants on their path to self-sufficiency.

Countywide Benefits Entitlement Services Team (DMH-CBEST)

DMH-CBEST is an interrelated partner program with the Countywide Benefits Entitlement Services Team (CBEST) that helps clients apply for Social Security and other disability benefits such as Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), and Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants (CAPI).
