It can feel isolating to live with or support a loved one living with untreated or undertreated schizophrenia and/or other psychotic disorders. To provide direct, clinical support to the individual and their families and loved ones, the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (LACDMH) hosts a Monthly CARE Q&A on the fourth (4th) Thursday of every month from 4 to 5 p.m. to share information and answer questions about Community Assistance, Recovery and Empowerment (CARE) Court.
These office hours are a safe, completely confidential and supportive environment where people can ask questions about eligibility, petition filings and County services. You can also simply listen on mute to learn more.

Recently, Los Angeles County’s CARE Court program has seen an 85% increase in petitions filed to join the CARE program. The program is part of a broader plan to rebuild California’s behavioral health system to provide a least-restrictive, structured pathway to stabilize people earlier and prevent more intensive interventions.
