CRISIS COUNSELING:
1) Crisis Counseling/Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM)
A) Authority over CISM Team Members
- Non-Directly Impacted Areas

B) Procedures for Requesting CISM Assistance
- Requests for CISM support shall come to the Coordinator, or designee, at the DOC. The Coordinator, or designee, shall log in all requests.
- The Coordinator will follow up with the requesting agency to assess and prioritize needs. Intervention will be based on that assessment
C) Procedures of Deployment
Teams are deployed according to the needs of the requesting agencies (i.e., language and culture), the location of the incident, and the experience of the CISM team members.
D) Transitioning from Immediate Response to Disaster Recovery Services
Once the immediate need for debriefing and stress management services is over, CISM Team members will return to their respective Service Areas, and the regular CISM On-Call Schedule will resume.
2) 5150 72- Hour Hold Procedures
- The existing 72-hour hold procedure shall be maintained in emergencies, including use of the existing approved roster of personnel designated to initiate holds.
- Directories listing staff home addresses and phone numbers, for use in emergencies, should include whether the individual is LPS designated
If possible, at least one LPS designated staff members hould be included on teams dispersed to shelters and DACs in order to handle possible psychiatric emergencies
